History builds as the index runs; a trend line appears after a few hours of readings.

The four components

Each scores 0 to 100 and carries equal weight. The index is their average.

Methodology, in full

Market breadth. The share of roughly two dozen tracked Solana tokens (the memecoin, DeFi and infrastructure lists from our prices page) showing a positive 24 hour price change. Tokens only count while they traded at least $25K in the last 24 hours, so faded names cannot add noise. All up scores 100, all down scores 0.

Buy pressure. Actual DEX buy volume as a share of total buy plus sell volume across the same tokens, from Jupiter's per-token statistics. Balanced two-way flow reads 50.

Risk appetite. The average 24 hour move of memecoins minus the average move of DeFi and infrastructure tokens. When money chases memecoins, appetite for risk is high. A spread of +10 points maps to 100, -10 points to 0.

SOL momentum. SOL's own 24 hour change, mapped the same way: +10% reads 100, -10% reads 0.

What it is not. This index reads market behavior, not social media chatter, and it says nothing about where prices go next. Extreme readings in either direction have historically appeared near turning points and also persisted for weeks. Treat it as context, never as a signal.

Data updates hourly from Jupiter and public Solana market sources. The tracked token lists are curated by hand and published on the prices page.

Disclaimer: This index is a general-information summary of recent public market data, produced by the fixed formula described above. It is not financial, investment or trading advice, not a forecast, and not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Cryptocurrency values are volatile and you can lose money. Always do your own research.
